University Week? More fun in DLSU :)

I must say, DLSU's University Week 2012 is very much publicized by the organizers! And oh, by the booths itself, I can also say that it is much planned and anticipated. Compared to last year, the booths are more organized and properly placed. It doesn't feel like I'm in the "palengke" anymore.

So far, the activities are worth attending (See pictures below). The bazaar also sells cute stuffs and I like how the sellers also publicized their products. It really increases the UniversityWeek vibe.

Valentines 2012 :)

Valentines is really in the air today. As I see my friends post on Twitter and Facebook regarding their own experiences, may it be their "Single Awareness Day" or "Happy Hearts Day", I can really feel that it has been a day of love, maybe not for all, but to most, yes it really does.

As for me, today is not only the start of my "happy" Valentines. It already started yesterday when my boyfriend surprised me by hiding in my locker a beautiful bouquet of white roses (plus an unknown specie of flowers).

Earlier today, he surprised me again by giving me a box of lovely cookies when we were about to leave his place. Seriously, I was not expecting to receive any gifts again especially that he already gave me the flowers the day before. I felt my heart melt when I saw the cookies.

The day itself was not "bongga" compared to others who maybe were dating at fancy restaurants or shopping at malls. Our date was simply going to Divisoria to look for a couple "Superman" shirts. We had petty arguments during that time but we managed to fix it before it can ruin our day. We also hanged out at Divi's food court and was able to get a free balloon at Wendy's. Doodling became our buddy while waiting for the time.

Our Valentine's day was paired up with our LEAP (an alternative class for students) and we chose the food trip at Binondo. We were with my blockmates and we ate at 3 different restaurants namely - Lan Zhou La Mian, Tasty Dumplings and Wai Ying. The last one was actually not really included in the trip but Bien insisted on going there. Boy, my stomach was really full today although I must say that my wallet's not anymore. XD

Well, that is it for today. This year's Valentines is something worth remembering. :)

I know, for a certain fact, that this is only one of the so many experiences in public transportation such as the MRT. Because of this, I ask everyone that uses MRT/LRT or any public transpo like me to keep vigilant and be alert always. Make sure that your belongings are stored in a safe place.

To any one who'll read this, I hope you share your own sentiments or tips or even your experiences so we can protect ourselves from the "bad ones".

"Last week (January 11, 2012), nadukutan ako ng phone sa MRT Boni Station. My phone was inside my bag and that time ginagamit ko phone ko as music player. Suddenly I noticed na nawala yung sound. I immediately checked on it and saw that my bag was already opened. I took notice of the hand na may hawak pa ng phone ko. I screamed and asked for help trying na habulin yung kamay until nawala na ito sa aking view dahil sa mga taong papalabas at papasok ng tren. Some guys na nasa gitna ng coach ng MRT near sa door ay may itinuturong guy na lumabas daw at kita nila na yun ang kumuha. Dahil sa tiwala, lumabas ako ng MRT para try na habulin yung sinasabi nilang guy. I asked for help from the security ng MRT pero to my dismay hindi ako tinulungan ng guard on duty. Tumayo lang siya sa harap ko and pinanood habang nagsisisigaw ako na may magnanakaw and paki-try na iinspect yung mga lumalabas na tao. I tried to get back sa loob ng coach ng MRT kung saan ako lumabas kaso pilit na tumuturo sa labas yung mga tao sa loob na malapit sa pinto na habulin ko daw kasi nakita nila na lumabas yung magnanakaw. So clueless of what might happen, nagpasama na lang ako sa security guard para mag-report sa mga police na naka-assign sa Boni station. I don’t know why pa ako sumama sa taas kung alam ko naman na wala na sila magagawa. Sa loob-loob ko, kanina pa nakaaalis ng station yung mandurukot. So good bye phone :'(

Kanina (January 17, 2012), 2:15 PM, same station may nadukutan na guy. Actually, tinuturo niya yung isang lalaki kanina sa loob ng coach na nakasuot ng sunglasses at inaakusahaan na dinukutan siya. Just like me, nagsisisigaw yung guy na nadukutan. Since na-“caught in the act” niya na dinukutan siya nung lalaki, malaki ang chance na maibalik sa kanya yung phone. Pero- HINDI nangyari yun.

Una, tulad ng nangyari sakin, tumayo lang yung guard sa MRT at hindi nagkaroon ng further investigation. He should have asked the train operator na patigilin sandali yung biyahe, pero wala- tumunganga lang siya dun habang nagpapaliwanag yung victim kung ano nangyari. Pangalawa,nandito na naman itong mga pasahero na tumuturo na nakita daw nilang lumabas yung nandukot at hindi daw yung nakasunglasses. Sa katunayan ilan pa dito ang tila pinagtatawanan yung nanakawang guy at sinasabing "...eh ang dami naka-shades dito, wala dito nagnakaw. ayun lumabas..." WTF?? As in ganun sila ka-vigilant to take notice kung sino nandukot at san ito nagpunta? Kung nakita nila, they could have declared nung nasa loob ng coach pa lang na may nandudukot na sa loob.

In the end hindi rin nakuha yung mobile phone nung guy. Nagsara yung train at patuloy sa biyahe. Sa loob, halatang nagtitinginan, nagsesenyasan, at nagbubulungan yung certain group of guys (isa na dun yung tinuturong suspect na kumuha ng phone). Pagdating ng Buendia Station ay sabay sabay silang bumaba and I heard yung isa na ngingiti-ngiti pang nagsabi ng “…baba na tayo. Wala naman sila magagawa…”

Naging malinaw sa akin na ganito ang modus operandi nila: isa sa grupo ang mandudukot/magnanakaw ng phone/gadget. Kung hindi napansin ng biktima- e di mission accomplished! Pero oras na mahuli o makaramdam ang biktima ay ituturo ng mga kasabwat/accomplice na lumabas yung magnanakaw para ma-divert ang attention ng biktima ganun din ng iba pang pasahero. Dahil sa taranta ng biktima aakalain nito na lumabas nga ang mandurukot. At hindi mapapansin na nasa loob talaga ang nagnakaw ng gadget niya. PERO hindi lang ito ang style/techniques nila. Madami pa. CONSTANT VIGILANCE: So the next time you ride the MRT, make sure na alerto kayo. If may bag kayong dala, better if nasa harap niyo para visible sa inyo. Ang mga valuables (e.g. mobile phone, wallet, player) ay ilagay kung san hindi ito madaling makukuha (e.g. sa pagitan ng mga gamit sa loob ng bag or side pocket/s ng pants). Hangga’t hindi nahuhuli ang gang or grupo ng mandurukot, patuloy nilang maisasagawa ang kanilang modus operandi sa MRT.

At para naman sa MRT Authority, please be responsive on these kind of incidences. Alam po namin na responsibility ng pasahero ang sarili nilang mga dalang gamit. However, hindi naman po yata tama na sa loob mismo ng MRT ay may nagaganap na nakawan . Sana ay magkaroon ng further investigations para mapanagot ang mga may sala at upang matigil na ang ganitong iregularidad at krimen sa MRT.

Hi guys! I'm quite busy with stuffs like working on oDesk (Yes! I'm earning even only I just joined last week ago. Earned 7 dollars, and currently on my third job! Well, I'm not that great at it. If you're a reader of my blog, you know I'm only a user of a digital camera, not the fancy DSLRs that most photographers use. But just last week ago, I submitted 3 of my photos in Abduzeedo, one of the biggest graphic design sites in the web. Well, I didn't know that at first because I just saw one of my friends saying that his work got published there without hoping that mine would get published. But luckily and unexpectedly, 2 out of 3 photos that I submitted got published! (I use LITTLESANITY as a pen name)

I was like WHOAAAAA! My friends told me that they really choose what to put on their site. Chapter 2012

I love 2011. A lot of happened during this year which I would always treasure and cherish for the rest of my life. Yet like fairy tales, it always has endings. My chapter 2011 has now ended, and another chapter is on its works.

I'm not ready for you, but here we go :)

Of all the New Years I experienced, this one is quite different. It's not because there's something missing or wrong with my family, it's because I still don't want it to start. The last 2 years of my life were so great, that I am afraid that starting this year might change all of it. But, I know I can't do anything about it. It's inevitable.

Yet, the feeling changed as the time left for 2011 is slowly decreasing. As I see my family complete, and my happy cousins and nephews and all the fireworks we had (and what our neighbors had), it dawned unto me that this year will or should be great.

My mom started celebrating 1 hour before New Year's eve. I was actually sleeping when I heard that they were already lighting up some of our fireworks, especially the kwitis. From 11:30 - 12:30, I was trying to get a good photo of all the fireworks, especially the ones that our neighbor resort annually have. Theirs was the best, and the one that signaled all of us that it's really the start of our New Year. (Check the fireworks photos here)

I had the best laugh during our Media Noche because my Dad and brother is making each other envious. My Dad is diabetic and has hypertension while my brother was having a stomachache so they tease each other about what they can't have. Our word of the Media Noche was "CRUNCHY" because they were so eager in eating the 'Crispy Pata', my brother teased my Dad on full force because he wasn't allowed to eat it. Their funny moment even happened during breakfast. LOL.

The one that really made our night was when we had picture taking at my parents' room. Cha-cha, my uber cute niece, is a really vain kid. My parents just love taking pictures with her, so I let their wish granted and started taking pictures of them. I joined too, and our vanity just got the better of us.

The call from my boyfriend was also something that made the night/morning happier. [Will not fill in details LOL]

It was a great morning/night. Although yes, I am still not prepared for 2012 and still have a little bit of hesitation for this year, I know it's worth the shot. :)

My Fortune as of 12/31/11 :)

Our yearly fortune telling was again held today. My mom loves having this kind of thing in our family (although my brother didn't join). I, myself, like having this one too. It's not that I really believe in this, I just find it cool that someone can really know something about me or my parents, even if we personally don't know each other. Most of all, I find the predictions interesting. Although I know that it's a "prediction", I kind of take it as a warning for myself too.

Anyways, I think I always have the best predictions in our family. Even before, the fortune tellers that we go to always said "Ang ganda ng palad mo, iha" or "Ang ganda ng magiging buhay mo", and stuffs like those. Of course, I feel so happy hearing those kind of things. Sometimes, I even ask myself if fortune tellers are liars because I always hear the same thing. Well, ikaw kaya sabihan nun palagi. LOL.

Today, for the nth time, the fortune teller said that I have a very great and successful future ahead. She was using cards for her fortune telling. It was the 2nd time for her to meet us. My mom likes her because she was able to predict something for her before. As for my fortune, the main things that she said were:

I'll be successful in any thing that I want, financially speaking. If I want to set up my business (and I'm thinking of starting one as of the moment) or get a job, I'll be great at it. Although I still don't know what I really want (And that's so true!). She also said that if I matured more, I'll know what I want and be successful at it.
Going abroad is also a big option once I graduate and have work experience. It's just up to me if I'll go there because there's something or someone that's stopping me to leave.
My lovelife, on the other hand, is something that will rely on my decisions and actions as well as for my boyfriend as of the moment (And I already told my boyfriend about it lol). We'll end up being together as long as we are able to overcome these trials. If not, I'll end up with some foreigner dude or stuff. MEH :))))

That was almost about it. The fortune teller said to me that we can always change our fortune/future. And I really agree with this. Her predictions are my warnings to myself. What to do and what should I do to be a better person. Besides, it's an addition to my resolution for next year too! I think it's a really good thing to have my fortune told on the last day of the year, it's cool and you know, somewhat inspiring.

To end, I really believe that only we ourselves, can mold our future. No one can really predict it except for that big guy up there :)

Symphony of Lights 2011

I remember my little niece whenever she sees Christmas lights, she'll give a big smile and shout "Lights!" pronounced as "Lights-sh". I guess if ever she'll go to Ayala Triangle Garden, and see the Symphony of Lights, her reaction would be more than that.

The Symphony of Lights is a yearly tradition in Makati. It was my first time to see the show last December 14 and I must say, it's a great tradition. The show was spectacular. There were so many Christmas lights, blinking according to the music. The colors, and how they blended, were very extravagant. (Refer to the video below, I recorded it using my camera)

There were so many people during the show. Good thing, we went there early, we were able to find a good place to sit at. I think it's also best to go there on weekdays because my friends said that there are so many people when they went there last Saturday. Also, if you're aiming to have dinner at Ayala Triangle, it's best to watch the show early, or eat first before watching.

The Symphony of Lights will be showing until December 30. It's from 6:00-9:00pm at the Ayala Triangle Garden. Show starts every hour (6,7 and 8). The Christmas lights show actually last about 6,7 or 8 minutes? The rest will be for the display. You can also take pictures during that time (See picture above).

This is a very good place to hang out with your loved ones, your boyfriend/girlfriend, family and friends. I super recommend this! Plus, the restaurants there are all great! Eating there before/after the show is also recommended :)

P.S. I was not able to blog yesterday because my boyfriend and I went out on a date :)

Yesterday while I was browsing my Facebook news feed, a link was always appearing wherein it was showing a picture of something green with a long black figure with it. I didn't mind it at first, but a lot of my friends were sharing the link, I got interested especially when I saw that it was about Chicboy, and some "worm" or "caterpillar" with their ginisang kangkong.

Apparently, a person named Sigrid Andrea P. Bernardo shared her complaints regarding her ginisang kangkong and how the Chicboy management faced her (in a very funny yet appealing way). Here's her side of the story:

Gusto ko lang ipaalala sayo kung ano ang mga pangyayari nun, nung hindi mo ko hinarap. Matapos kong umorder pati ang kasama ko ng dalawang lechong liempo,isang regular ice tea, at isang botomless,pati na ang bago niyong labas na salmon sashimi at siyempre pa,hindi mawawala ang pagkasarap sarap na ginisang kangkong. Ang total bill namin ay 358php...Sa pagkakaalam ko yung lang ang inorder ko at hindi kasama ang bulate.

Nagyon habang ngasab ako ng ngasab sa aming kinakain, napansin ng kasama ko na oily yung kangkong. sabi ko "Masarap nga yun, oily". nung tinikman ko, ok naman, para lang may petroleum gelly ka lang na kinakain with kangkong, pero ok lang. kumain pa rin kami, may natira pang konti sa kangkong sabi ko ako nalang uubos sayang. Tapos Bigla nalang may sumulpot na mahaba at mataba na nilalang sa kangkong. sabi ko "Ano to?", sabi ng kasama ko "Ay, baka talong". Natawa pa ko, sabi ko "Ang galing may libreng talong!" Sinubukan kong hiwain ito sa pamamagitan ng tinidor, pero ang kunat nito. hanggang sa itinihaya ko ito. At sa pagtihaya ng nilalang, tumambad sa akin ang kanyang mga paa at pati ang mukha nito na parang nagsasabing " Alam mo this time pwede kang magreklamo, tutal nasipsip mo na buong pagka bulate ko, at isa pa obvious naman na ang laki ko".

Alam mo Chickboy hindi naman ako mahirap ka relasyon, sa totoo lang hindi ko alam kung malas lang ako sa mga ganitong bagay, kasi dati sa ibang kainan, may ipis na maliit na kasama sa pagkain ko, langaw, uod na maliit.. Pero ito naman, sobra naman sa laki na imposibleng hindi mo makita! So, siyempre sa hitsura pa lang siguro naman ok lang na mag complain ako no? pati nga mga waiters niyo nagulat sa sobrang laki, yung iba nga kinuhaan pa ng picture. Tapos yung supervisor niyong hindi ko itatago ang pangalan na si Glaiza, namutla talaga, tumawag kagad sa Management. halos ayaw na kong harapin. ang sabi lang niya sa akin. "Mam, paltan nalang ho namin yung kangkong" what??? Sa tingin mo ba kakain pa ko ng mga pagkain niyo pagkatapos ng lahat? na nasipsip ko na ang buong pagkabulate ng nilalang sa kangkong ko?. Pero binawi ko rin ito after awhile, mga limang minuto, kasi gusto ko nalang i take out ang kangkong na may bulate. Malapit ko na sanang palampasin ng dumating ang magiting niyong head waiter na di ko na alam ang pangalan.

Sabi ko kasi kay Glaiza, i take out ko yung kangkong na may bulate.E ayun na nga, etong si head waiter sumabat na ang sabi "Mam, wait lang ho, kasi nirereview ho pa namin yung sa cameras, kasi may mga naka-install na cameras dito eh"

Strike 3!

Ah ganon, hindi ako tanga, at alam ko kung ano ang gusto mong sabihin pwes inunahan ko na. sabi ko "Mabuti pa i review niyo ng malaman niyo kung sino naglagay ng malaking bulate sa kangkong ko! at makita niyo rin kung gaano ako sumuka pagkakain ko ng kangkong niyo!, akin na, akin na ang tinake out kong kangkong na may bulate!" aba strike 4 humirit pa ang waiter na ito at sinabing "Naku, mam pag ho binayaran na kayo hindi niyo na ho makukuha yung kangkong."

Aba, ako pa pala ang mukang pera. eto ang sabi ko "Kuya, di ka ba nakikinig? sinabi ko na kanina pa kay Glaiza, na di na ko magpapabayad ng kinain namin ang gusto ko lang yung kangkong na may bulate! ngayon, ibigay mo sa akin yung kangkong ko kasi binayaran ko yon!kaya akin na ang kangkong na may bulate!" hindi na nakaimik pa si kuya at ang lahat. edi nataranta kayo ngayon. May meeting ako nung hapon ding iyo at kailangan ko ng umalis. Sabi ko" Excuse me, may meeting pa ako babalik ako mamayang gabi, at mamayang gabi ibigay niyo na sa akin ang kangkong na may bulate at ipakausap niyo nalang sa akin may ari nito para hindi na kayo ma mroblema" . Sa totoo lang naawa pa ko, dahil mga tauhan lang sila at hindi nila alam kung anong gagawin sa mga ganitong sitwasyon.

So bumalik nga ko kinagabihan.. Pinaharap niyo sa akin yung isa niyo pang supervisor o pang gabi, sabi niya tinapon na raw yung kangkong na may bulate, pero tinawag ko yung Glaiza. Sabi niya "Ay mam hindi pa ho namin tinatapon", ano ba yan sobrang halatang nagsisinungaling kayong dalawa.. So si supervisor or manager na pang gabi, inexplain sa akin kung ano ang proseso niyo ng pagluluto ng kangkong. Sabi ko, nasa proseso ba ng pagluluto ang paghuhugas ng gulay?. You're not getting my point. Since wala kayong maisagot, nilagay niyo ko sa isang tabi tapos bumalik kayo kasa ang isang food checker at dalawang pulis.

Akala ko yung pulis, yung kami ang nagpadala, since na reklamo na namin sa kamias station na wala rin naman palang nagawa. Ngayon, ang akala ng mga pulis na ito masisindak niyo ko, well well well nagkamali ka..dahil sa pagkakataong ito ako ang tama at ako ang complainant! at sasabihin pa sa akin ng mga pulis na ito na, ang mali ng isa ay hindi mali ng lahat…ang point dito may sinabi ba akong ganun? ang point dito bakit may bulate sa kangkong ko!
tapos hihiritan pa ako, na may food checker kayo, na one year na kayong operational. Tinanong ko siya kung siya ang manager, hindi ko na hinintay kung tumango man siya o hindi. sabi ko

" Pwes ang pangit ng management niyo! Alam niyo, kung kayo takang taka kung bakit may bulate sa kangkong ko, mas lalo na ako!Dahil NASIPSIP KO LANG NAMAN ANG BUONG PAGKABULATE NIYA. Ngayon, kung iniisip niyo na ako ang naglagay ng nilalang diyan, sana man lang hindi ko ginisa sa kakainin kong kangkong at lasap na lasap ko ang laman ng bulateng yan! ngayon, kung ayaw ibigay sa akin ang kangkong kong may bulate, kumuha kayo ng limang bulate at sipsipin niyo sa harap ko ok na ko! hindi niyo na kailangang kainin yung balat tutal yung laman lang naman nakain ko!"

Ayun, natahimik kayo..nag alisan na sila,medyo natawa pa nga sa monologue ko. Tapos in the end after more than 30 min of waiting. nag reklamo na ako at kailangan kong umalis. Yung mga pulis, niyaya ako sa loob ng room. Pumunta naman ako at sinundan ako ng kasama ko.

At tong mga pulis nato ang unang tanong.."Ano ho ba ang gusto niyo?" pwes sinagot ko siya " kuya, paulit ulit? pa-ulit ulit? ikaw ang sumagot ng tanong mo! ang gusto ko yung kangkong na may bulate"! tapos natahimik siya, sinabi niya na mam, kasi medyo napataas ang boses niyo dun sa labas.

Nilaksan ko ang boses ko na pang main theater ng ccp..sabi ko," Ako pa ngayon ang may kasalanan!ako na nga nakakain ng bulateng pagkalakilaki! at isa pa, una sa lahat, bakit niyo kasi ako nilagay sa gitna ng mga customers niyo? at isa pa, bakit ikaw ang kausap ko? part owner ka ba ng chickboy?"ayun natahimik ang pulis patola.. sabi ng kasama ko. "bakit ba kampi kayo sa kanila eh kami ang complainant! at isa pa kaya gusto namin kunin yung kangkong na may bulate kasi gusto namin kayo ireklamo sa BFAD. bigyan lang ng leksiyon."

Sabi ko."alam niyo, kung kayo nag SORRY nalang hindi na siguro nangyari yung ganito!" papano, ang yayabang pa, napaka defensive kagad. hindi aminin ang mali! sabi ng pulis.."mam, di pa ho ba sila nagsorry?" sabi ko "hinde!!!inexplain niyo lang naman sa akin ang tungkol sa pagnenegosyo, kung papano dinedeliver ang mga gulay niyo at kung papano niyo pinapatakbo ang chickboy!!!"….

Anyway, bago pa makagawa ako ng gulo, pinakalma na ko ng kasama ko at aalis nalang kami…gusto ko lang sabihin sa'yo CHICKBOY na wag niyo kong lekturan sa pagnenegosyo mag seminar muna kayo ng TUNGKOL SA SANITATION, HOW TO DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS, AND HOW TO BE HUMBLE!

At sa tingin ko dapat rin kayo manood ng mga bagong episodes sa KNOWLEDGE CHANNEL UPANG MALAMAN NIYO KUNG PAPANO ANG TAMANG PAGNENEGOSYO AT MALAMAN ANG "BATUKTALI" sa pagnenegosyo! 10 episodes yun. Panoorin niyo LAHAT!

At ngayong pasko lalo na't maraming pamilya ang mag bonding sa labas at definitely kakain, sana Maging maiingat kayo sa mg pagkaing sineserve niyo. At kung mangyari muli yun, isipin niyo ang kung kayo ang nasa posisyon ng customer. Minsan naiisip ko, nung sa karinderya ako kumakain, wala pa akong na experience na ganito. Kung kelan sa mga mas mahal at mas established pa na restaurant, dun pa pumapalya!

Whew, it was a long read. I tried my best to finish it until the last. My initial reaction is that this girl is really tough. She really fought for what she believed is right. And judging by her own side of the story, she had her own point especially that the management didn't apologize at first.

I felt sorry for Chicboy, really. I love the restaurant and their food (Not so much for their employees and the way they serve). It's just sad that a complaint like this might ruin them.

BUT WAIT, before I knew it. Chicboy fought back using their page (I don't know if it's their official page though).

"THE COMPETITOR IS DESPERATE!!!

There are rumors going around Facebook that a caterpillar (or "bulate" as they call it) was found in our Ginisang Kangkong sa Bawang. If you are familiar with Chic-Boys ginisang kangkong sa bawang, our kangkong is cut into bits. HOW COME IN THE PHOTO THEY POSTED, THE CATERPILLAR IS WHOLE?

We are not surprised with this demolition job. We have only been in the market for a year and a half and we have grown to 64 opened stores and 48 under construction. Do you think the competition will just take us sitting down?

We are entrepreneurs who have good business ethics. We will build our name and business by giving our best to our customers and not destroy the name of our competitor for our gain. You be the judge!!!!"

As for my opinion in this issue, here are just my 2 cents worth:

I think both sides has their own fault. Bernardo, looks like is so eager to battle with Chicboy (though I can't blame her, but hey, there's a more appropriate way to complain) while Chicboy should know how to apologize and treat customers better (I still believe in the saying, "Customers are always right").
There's something mysterious/suspicious about this issue. The worm/caterpillar is so huge, anyone especially the Chicboy staff could have identified it. Bernardo should have seen it too without eating the worm.
One branch is not equal to the other branches. It doesn't mean if Chicboy Timog has this kind of issue, other branches are like that also. (Although, I just want to complain that in my experience in the Marikina and Meycauayan branch, their service is too slow. Kudos to the Monumento branch for having a friendly and fast staff!)
I think they should all just bring it to the court or just talk about it peacefully, not making a big fuss on Facebook.

So what do you think guys? Who's telling the truth?

Hello blog. Hello affies. Hello visitors! I'M BACK! :D

(From a very long hiatus, lol. I do hope you guys miss me *sniff*)

It's been a while (almost 2 months) since I last blogged. As usual, I have been very very busy with my academics. But good news, we already passed the first phase of our thesis proposal! 2 more terms to go, and hello graduation - I HOPE. Please pray for me and my thesis mates.

By the way, short introduction for our thesis because I've been talking about it like forever. Our thesis is all about [see picture at the left]

YES. TREES. Most specifically, the URBAN TREES. Hence, we're going to make a Tree Mapping and Monitoring Information System where our main aim or goal is to help monitor or track the trees health. There are actually existing Information Systems regarding trees but mostly all exist outside the country. So this is why we're going to make our own. It's for the environment, for our country, and for a better future. Our test bed will be at NUVALI (Sta. Rosa Laguana), one of the most beautiful places I've been. Although it's not really urban, they're already aiming for a sustainable environment so it's the best option we have.

Cool, and somewhat "Is it possible?" right? Well, don't worry. It's not impossible to create one. Will update you guys regarding our thesis :)

ANYWAYS, because I'm back. I want to make sure that I'm going to really blog again.

No more lazy days! Hurraaaayyy!

Btw, I have a new inspiration right now. This is why sometimes I lack the spirit to blog. Say hello to my new Blog buddy - my new camera! :) [No name yet for this guy though, what do you think is a good name?]

It's a gift from my Dad because I'm dreading to have a new camera. It was really unexpected!

You might wonder why not a DSLR? Asides from the main reason that we're not that rich, I'm not the photographer-ish type of person who wants/needs a DSLR. I'm already fine with a digital camera, especially that I don't really go much for the best quality of a photo. I just want to share what I experience, or see. So that's why this kind of camera already suits me. (Mind you guys, I always want my blog posts to have photos. So yeah, I will always bring my camera to shoot stuffs that I want to blog about. So expect a lot of photos from me for my upcoming posts. :P)

So far, I decided that my blog will focus on food, events and my own lifestyle. Actually, my New Year's resolution is that I am able to blog more daily - well, I really would like to do a Blog 365, yet still thinking if I can do it.

Bloggers' Congress 2: Back to Blogging!

Wow. It has almost been a month and 2 weeks since I last updated this blog. I'm terribly sorry, the reason why I wasn't able to blog a few days is because I was too busy again with my academics, most especially with our thesis proposal. It has been what, deadly weeks of only 3-4 hours sleep, and doing endless papers! Good thing, I have the best-est thesismates (nuuuks).

Alright, so much for my academics, I returned to blogging once again! Hurraaay! Good thing I attended the Bloggers' Congress 2, an activity in our school where they invited famous and professional bloggers to give a talk regarding their blogging life, etc.

At first, I was a bit hesitant to attend the event because it was Saturday and I hate going out the house on Saturdays. But in the end, I decided to go, especially that my boyfriend told me he was willing to go too because his idol, Rob Cham, will be speaking instead of Christian San Jose. Too bad, I was late for the first speaker (Rob Cham) and the first blogger that I had seen speaking in front was Anton Diaz, followed by Camille Co and Saab Magalona (I'm a fan!).

My opinions/insights from the following speakers:

Rob Cham - I was late so yeah, sorry! XD
Anton Diaz - A very successful Lasallian blogger. It's so sweet of him and his wife to make their blog a kind of "love letter" to their children. He has a very wonderful history of blogging. I admire him for his guts in making blogging as his full time profession. His blog was also the reason why we have Mercato Centrale!
Camille Co - I'm not really fond of fashion blogs, primarily because I don't really care about my looks or clothes. But Camille Co is a very sweet girl, I learned some of the do's and don'ts from her.
Saab Magalona - To tell you the truth, I was expecting that she was very well prepared for this but it turns out to be the opposite. Like what she said, she isn't really that much of a public speaker, but she was super down to earth and bubbly, I can't help to idolize her more! To add, she isn't "maarte" too because when the congress was finished, we were waiting for the elevator, but the ones passing us were full. She didn't hesitate and even lead her companions to take the stairs! What a girl. O_O

Well, I really learned from the speakers. I was actually inspired to blog again, especially that I've learned that the Bloggers' Congress was made possible in order to inspire bloggers to blog about certain issues (Watch the video below).

I think the event was a success and had imparted a lesson to each and everyone who attended.

I just remembered what Mr. Anton Diaz said regarding blogging,

"It's not about popularity, it's about impact."

We should be the start of change. Blogging is one way for it. :)

Anime-ish Sunday Date

If you had read my last post, I was inviting you guys to the Otaku Expo 2011 at SM Megamall. My boyfriend and I planned to go to this event for an advance celebration of our 9th monthsary. It was my first time to attend an anime convention (and go out with boyfie on a Sunday). We went there with his family, although we arrived late than what I expected.

Before we reached the Megatrade Hall, I am seeing a lot of teenagers wearing anime costumes. By the time we reached the place, I was shocked with the number of people in costumes as well as the number of photographers! We went inside one event, paying 100php each for the entrance. There was nothing much except for a program, and some stalls. I was lucky enough that my boyfie found a panda fan. I quickly bought it! Look! ->

I think the biggest mistake that we did that day is we attended the wrong event. We were late to realize that we attended the Hero Convention instead of the Otaku Expo 2011! We have to pay another 100php entrance fee for Otaku Expo. In the end, we decided to take pictures of the cosplayers and roam around Megamall.

We also went to Dunkin Donut for merienda. Boyfie introduced to me one of the cheapest yet delicious drinks that has the same taste of those in Starbucks - Dunkin Donut's Frizzle!

The Mocha Frap taste like the ones from Starbuck's. The Caramel flavor's good too.
Both costs 70php each. It was very sulit! You guys should try these out :)

Whoo, that's all for Sunday. It wasn't fun as what I expected it to be for some personal reasons. I'll just look forward to the next anime conventions! Waiting for Best of Anime and Cosplay Mania! :D

I'm trying to be "Girly". Help!

I think my blog would also include my own journey to being a "kikay". Seriously girls, I really don't care what I look like. I go out of our house without putting on anything. My usual routine is just putting on J&J powder and Bench cologne and poof! Off I go to school. Btw, I'm already on my 4th year in college. LOL.

Anyways, I realized that I really look so pale compared to other girls. I also realized that I should try to make myself look prettier so that I can have more confidence in myself. But of course, it's only one little step at a time. Sooooo, thanks to my girl friends, I was able to buy some kikay things of my own at Watsons. Here! :)

1. Oil Control Sheet. After a very long time, I bought once again an oil control sheet for my oily face.

2. Maybelline Lip Balm. My very first lip balm. Seriously, I really don't use anything for my lips!

3. Ever Bilena Cheek Blush. My very first blush-on. I have my own lip and cheek tint, but my friends told me to buy a blush-on instead so they insisted me to buy one. We chose Ever Bilena because it has a cute color, as well as it has a free brush and mirror! :)

4. Lewis & Pearl Body & Face Powder. I've read super good reviews from GT so I bought one! I'm not really into compact powder too. :P

Note: As you can see, almost all of them are pink. But seriously, pink is not my favorite color. It was only a matter of coincidence that they're all in pink. :P

What do you think? I'm not really aiming for a very "kikay" look. I just don't want to look pale.

Iba Gurls Reunion :)

I finally had the chance to bond with 2 of my closest friends in High School, Fatima and Duki aka "Iba Gurls" (because we live at Iba, it's a small barangay here in Meycauayan, Bulacan). It was great seeing these girls again, especially Duki because we haven't seen each other for months! It's also a late birthday celebration for Duki because it was her birthday last August 15. As for Patty, it's a kind of distraction. You know :-"

Anyways, it was a tiring and fun day. We watched the movie 'Final Destination 5' (I wrote a movie review about it. Check it here!), merienda at Pizza Hut + super long chikahan, window shopping + looked for some girly stuffs at Watsons, and ate at DQ before going home. (Pictures from Duki :P)

Movie Review: Final Destination 5

Final Destination 5 has once again proven why we should never cheat death.

The last installment of the film is not that different from the rest of the Final Destination series - starting with a vision of death, and ending up being chased by it, which results to heart-pounding scenes and gruesome deaths of the "lucky ones" who have escaped from it.

What I like about this installment is that they have successfully combined comedy, romance and suspense, in a way that only the Final Destination series can. Although I kind of regret not watching it on 3D (I only prefer watching animated films on 3D) because there are some scenes which may look better in 3D especially in the beginning of the movie.

Con:

- I hate the super long introduction of the movie wherein they showed the names of the producers, actors, etc.

Pros:

- I like how it toyed my mind in trying to predict how each of them will die! It's way better than the other sequels. Well, of course, this is according to one's preference. (I still like best the first one though :P)

- The "new rule" also added up the flavor in the movie.

- Great twist for the ending. No need to explain why. Find out for yourself! :>

- Not really included but forgive me, I really find the protagonist HOT :">

Rating: 4.25 or 4.5/5 (I've had seen better from the first installments but the ending of this movie is just so unexpected, that it made me clap inside because it was super unexpected from the film.)

I literally still had the creeps after watching this movie. When I saw the first death, I was like holding to my friend and saying "Why did we watch this again in the first place?!" LOL. As the movie goes deeper, I was trying to say to myself that it would be all over. Only [insert number] of deaths to go! Sorry for being such a scaredy cat :))))

But seriously, it's a good watch. I suggest you watch it on 3D instead, so you can really feel how intense the movie is. :)

Steve Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple

I guess a lot would really be shocked with one of the most breaking news of Apple - Steve Jobs, one of the biggest drivers of innovation in technology from Apple, is set to resign and will be replaced by Tim Cook, the current COO (Chief Operating Officer) of Apple.

Letter from Steve Jobs

To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

When I first heard about Steve Jobs' resignation, I felt sad for Apple. He was truly an inspiring man. He lead Apple into a good fight. I can really say that he was Apple and Apple was him. If you guys are wondering why did he resign, the reason was because of his sickness, although it wasn't really specified what it is. I've researched that Jobs battled from cancer back then and had a liver transplant, but his main reason for resignation remains a mystery.

Through the resignation letter of Jobs, there are 3 things that we can use to prove that Apple can still be successful:

"I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee." - Steve Jobs wants to be Chairman and still be part of Apple.
"As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple." - Tim Cook is said to be the most eligible person to be the CEO of Apple. Because he is the COO of the company, he knows the overall flow of the company's worldwide sales and operations.
Jobs may be the face of Apple but Apple's success does not revolve around him. There are people behind Apple's success that is/are not recognized until today, and that includes Mr. Cook.

I just hope that Apple can still keep its momentum even though Jobs is gone. Tim Cook, you're the man now. Prove us wrong. Prove to us that Apple can still survive, with or without Steve Jobs.

After our defense, I waited for about 4 or 5 hours before the ReWind event (Yes, the name of the event is actually 'ReWind: An Acoustic Night') but of course, I did pretty productive stuff while waiting for the event as well as waiting for my HS barkada. When my HS barkada arrived at Taft, I rushed to the University Mall to meet them. We were all hungry that time, so after a hard time of deciding where to eat, we ended up at Papa Jack's. And boy, it was a good decision, I really love their pizza! =P~

My boyfriend followed and I was able to let him meet my friends and vice versa. It was a good feeling that I was able to let them meet and greet, although my HS barkada were really shy to him! I think I need to do something about that, don't I? LOL. We asked him to take pictures of us, and he was willing to do that. Good thing I have a photographer-boyfriend right? Hihi :>

After the eating part, we rushed to Food Locker, the venue of the event. The ticket of the event cost 200php, inclusive of unlimited beer as well as a baller from San Miguel. Too bad, we were late so we didn't have a good seat at first. My college friends only let way for us to have a seat. Btw, these college friends are also the ones who's going to perform! LOL.

And oh, I told you that my friends are the ones performing right? Here's a picture of me and DNA (Check their page and music here. They make covers as well as compose their original song! Gawd, I'm so proud of them. They're my jejetwins!)

Too bad, I wasn't able to take pictures of my boyfriend with his band. But I'm proud to share a link of one of the songs that they performed that night. It was my favorite and the crowd loved it! Honestly, they really gave energy to the event that night especially with this song :P (You can also check their YouTube account here for their recordings and their FB page here :D)

It was a fine event, too bad, we can't really hear the bands. There was also a game which one my HS barkada joined. Too bad, she didn't win. I got tipsy that night too. Blame the beer. LOL. My HS barkada didn't finish the even though, we went to Providence Tower and sang through the night. It was really fun! Some picture here! (Taken from one of my HS barkada :P)

We went home like 11 or 12 pm. Jeep all the way back to Monumento and a jeep again to Bulacan. Good thing my family wasn't that angry with me. All in all, it was really a great day! Super love it! :)

I want to "ReWind" ;) (part 1)

I know this happened almost 2 weeks ago, but I so love what happened that day and I plan on making my blog a kind of journal/diary for me. So I'm going to blog about what happened last August 13, 2011. :)

This day was very very tiring yet fun. It was our defense day (or should I say judgement day?) for one of our majors and it's also the day where my boyfriend and his band will perform on stage in an event. My HS barkada were coming too in Taft that day. Basically, it was one hell morning and happy evening for me.

I didn't have sleep that day because we were cramming our paper and system (We slept at one of my groupmate's place at Marikina)! We were also kind of scared that we wouldn't pass because our docu was crap. And our system wasn't like the one you'll consider as a "passing" project. Good thing we were able to pass it time or we'll have a 20-minute deduction but still, I think you guys know the feeling of passing a project, knowing it's crap right? And to top it all, we're also scheduled to have a defense that day. Crappy project + zombie-like people defending it, I thought it wasn't a really good match. :P

While waiting for our defense, we asked my boyfriend to take pictures of us. You know, pre and post pictures just to see what will be the outcome/verdict of our defense. So here's our pictures before our defense :)

We were really nervous that time, although the pictures don't look like it. Our defense started by 12nn and lasted for an hour. The verdict? Let me tell you through this picture below :P

Crappy project + Zombie-like people defending it was a success! Our defense grade was way higher than what we expected. We really didn't know if it's because of our system, or on the way we presented it or because our professor was really in a good mood. But we were still thankful that we passed! We actually prayed fervently before our defense, and I must say, praying really works. Thank you Lord! :D

Hello there friends! Because I still don't know what to blog about, I'll post the 3 pictures I edited for our Green and White (School yearbook). In our yearbook, we are given the chance to submit 3 pictures of our choice. And because I don't know what to submit, given that there are so many pictures of my choice, I decided to edit them and organize them by group: Blockmates, Tapat people and my Pump Up The Animo (PUTA) friends :)

Tonight, I randomly remembered to check what's my page rank for no apparent reason. I wasn't even in the mood to blog or check what's been happening to my blog for the past few weeks. It just popped out into my mind, so I checked it out using this site: http://www.prchecker.info

But wait, what is Page Rank? Here's a definition:

In my own words, page rank is a kind of status for any blog. It's an indicator of the blog's performance, how well it drives traffic and how important is its content. Actually, I've been waiting for the day that my blog's page rank increase since I started it back in May. It was kind of depressing to see that it was N/A at first, then 0 by June or July. But everything changed now because of this.

I feel so proud. After trying to REALLY REALLY maintain my blog, hard work pave off. This just made me realize that everything I've read about being a successful blogger is really true. All you need are these three: Patience, Good content (Write anything that you want), and Drive Traffic (Although I suck at this lol).

On the other hand, I promise to check my tagboard and visit other blogs as well as soon as this week ends. Finals week is fast approaching and I have so many things to do (Check pictures at the right). Some tasks aren't even included here in my stickies. >_<

I also promise to blog the things I listed (Check left picture above). I had so many things happening to me that I wanted to share all of them. I'm wishing for at least one day to share everything in my blog. ^_^

Btw, my boyfriend and I are planning to make a food blog inspired by our EM-TECH project (hiddendelights.tumblr.com). I hope we'll be successful! I love quotations or short statements regarding about love and advice. Good thing I found and followed Papa Jack's twitter account. He gives the BEST advice! Anyone can totally relate with every thing he says especially me. It's no wonder many are retweeting his tweets!

HS Barkada bonding :)

Finally, after almost a year of not seeing each other, my barkada and I decided to hang-out! And it was a good decision to really push with our bonding last Saturday, July 31, even if Kabayan was not on our side that day.

We went karaoke-ing in a little karaoke place at the building we called "mol-molan" or even "Small of Asia", you maybe know why we called it that way. It was one of our favorite places to go to way back our HS days. Of course, we went singing and making fun of each other. "Kwento" is also really a part of that day because some of the girls were "heartbroken" because of ~~stupid guys~~ who broke my friends' hearts. Good thing they're gone now in their lives. Whew.

Because we were tired of singing and laughing and telling each other stories, we decided to hang at the Jollibee downstairs. It was good to just sit down there and reminisce about our past and talk about different things like our next bonding day, our future and even some hot issues regarding our country today and many more. And to end this blog post, there is one realization that I liked the most during our bonding. We realized that "nag-iisa ang barkada namin" - one of a kind! This is because we can't see other girls like us in our universities/colleges. Even if we had years and years of being apart, I guess our barkada would still remain intact. :)

To end, back in HS, we usually eat by sharing our chips in one big plate. We call it "fiesta" every time we do that stuff. Unexpectedly, we did the same thing to our fries. Some things never change after all. :)

I decided not to go to school today, considering that our deadline is almost near and I need to study Calculus (Uggghhhh) for our upcoming quiz (I can't do any academic stuff at home, promise!). It was a good decision after all because classes were suspended late today. Actually, it was a surprise because there weren't any announcements from PAG-ASA and CHED yesterday regarding about suspension or any strong rain or storm today. Although I'm still pissed with CHED because they're not improving! Please, oh please, CHED. Improve now. You're not doing any good for us, college students!

My dream is...

I found this blog post where it's giving away 50 dollars to anyone who'll be sharing their dreams. It was kind of easy when you think of it, because the usual dreams are having a good life, with lots of money, being happy and all but I guess, mine is different in a way.

Anyways, to start off, my dream? Simple, my dream is for everyone to have a good life, where all is equal, where all are happy, where we don't have to fight against each other for survival, where the only thing we need is trust to each other. Yes, I know, it's a kind of impossible dream, but I still am hoping for this.

But of course, I still dream for a good life not only for me and my family.

My "realistic" dream is that for me to graduate from college, live a good life where I have a decent job with a high salary, have a business of my own, give my parents a great life (monthly allowance and also a house & lot), have a great family of my own and be filthy rich and help people who are in need. Or just start a foundation where I can share my blessings to everyone.

As I was watching the news a while ago, I felt glad to hear that DEP-ED suspended classes for elementary and secondary level. I was waiting for CHED to announce but sadly, they said that they're going to announce at about 10pm. I didn't have any reactions and tried to wait. I've been seeing a lot of tweets from my friends saying that classes were suspended already so I tried to look for the official Twitter account of CHED.

At the first try, I found this account https://twitter.com/CHEDOfficialPH because DLSU-USG retweeted their tweets saying that there are still no official announcements for class suspension and later found out that their account was deleted. Ugghh.

I then found this new account https://twitter.com/#!/CHEDPh and I just hope that it's the real account. I've asked PAGASA-DOST what is the real Twitter account of CHED but it haven't replied yet. I just saw their tweets saying:

dost_pagasa PAGASA-DOST kahit nagrecommend ng suspensyon ang PAGASA-DOST sa NCR, nasa CHED/univesities pa rin ang pinal na desisyon

So I really find myself losing hope regarding the official announcement of CHED. DLSU, on the other hand, didn't give any updates yet. Through the USG's twitter account, I found these:

I read through the tweets of different people regarding CHED's late announcements and find some are "complains" because they just don't want to go to school tomorrow. As for me, my main concern is why does CHED have to announce it so late? Is it because it's not Signal No.3? Is it because they are irritated with the rants of the students? Or are they studying the effect of what will happen if they officially suspend the classes? I just hope CHED will clear themselves tomorrow.

Anyways, because I was browsing for the photos regarding the "Di kami waterproof - College Students", I ended up reading this:

Hello Social Networking Sites!

Whew. I've been using a lot of Social Networking sites now and I can say that I've been having a little bit of a hard time maintaining them all. Here are the following social networking sites that I use (according to the frequency of use):

Facebook. Who doesn't use Facebook? It's the ultimate social networking site in today's generation. It's where I communicate with my friends and even group mates! Instead of texting others, I use Facebook to message or tell anyone something important especially with my thesis mates, org mates, distant friends, etc. I also like the FB Groups and Apps which make it more fun to use. I just hate people who kept on adding me (I admit, I accept friend requests because sometimes I forgot people that I had an experience of not adding a friend because I forgot her name, etc) and they keep sending messages which really really irritates me! I un-friend those who I don't know and just randomly message me on FB. Oh, another thing! I hate FB Chat now, errrr. But overall, it's one of the best social networking sites out there.

Twitter. I've been using Twitter just to share random thoughts of mine. It's like a journal of thoughts and experiences, only that it's just limited to a few words. Ialso use it to connect with the celebrities, etc. I'm also updated more with the current news because I follow accounts like Inquirer, ABS-CBN, GMANews. Even my friends tweet the latest stuff happening around DLSU! With Twitter, I'm always "in" the news. I really don't have problems much in Twitter, only that I find it weird that some people are following me even if I don't know them at all.

Tumblr. I really love this site because it makes me creative. It also let me see hilarious, cute and creative stuff that I can't see on other networking sites. This is also my repository of beloved pictures and doodles. I'm not really a fan of reblogging in Tumblr,and that's my only problem with it - not having your own original posts. Oh well, I'm just an amateur trying to share to the world what I can do on Tumblr. Lol.

Google+ (Don't know how to share the link yet, just check plus.google,com). Yes, I'm already a user of Google+, thanks to the invite of my friend! It's relatively new, and only a few friends are active on it. Compared to Facebook, it's still a baby but what I like about it is that I can group my "friends" easily on it using Circles. I also don't need to log-in anymore because all the updates is at my g-mail account. I love the Google hang-out too because it's relatively easy compared to Skype. You can hang-out with anyone! At first, I had a hard time in using it but in the end, I liked the overall purpose of Google+. I think Facebook should really prepare before Google+ take over the number 1 spot of a social networking site. :P

That's all the social networking sites that I use for now, but I just want to also include:

Blogger. Well, yes, I don't actually look at Blogger as only a blogging site, I also find it a social networking site because I've had friends through blogging (although it's sad that I haven't had any communication much with you guys anymore). I also have had less time to blog and visit other blogs as well because I've been stuck with school works that I forget what to blog anymore so that's why I've been active in Twitter and Tumblr lately because it's easy to "blog" there compared here to Blogger. But yes, I love Blogger and I love the ones who use it as well. Cheers to all of us! :)

STRESSDEVE == Wicked Oreos!

It's been a while since I last posted. I had a hard time managing my schedule as an IT student, an officer of a organization, daughter, girlfriend, and many more. Heck, I've been having pimples because of the short hours of sleep! I think I'm also going to wear glasses soon because of my worsening case of astigmatism. Ugghh, the daily struggles of college life is getting to me.

Sorry for the rants! Let's go to the main topic of this post - a night of stress. Last Thursday night, me and my groupmates were cramming for a deliverable for our subject SYSDEVE (System and Development). We were working on a prototype and some documentation. Well, I was tasked for the documentation because I'm the docu girl of the team. My other groupmates were to do the prototype.

Funny thing here is, instead of focusing all night with our project, we had time to EAT(and eat!) and even MAKE WICKED OREOS! It's my first time to cook some, and eat a home-cooked one! My groupmates taught me how. Oreo cookies + pancake mix (If you want a cheap and tasty one, use Magnolia!) + cooking oil == Wicked oreos. All you need to do is combine the oreos with the pancake mix and deep-fry it. Before you deep-fry it, make sure that it's really hot so that the mixed oreos will just re-surface once you placed it there. Anyways, you can look for other recipes, I can't really explain how to cook it! (Sorry! Lol)

It felt like we have nothing to do but it ended as we all finished almost all of it. There were five more left that night!

The night didn't end for us though. We didn't have much sleep and we were basically cramming all night. It was an additional stress when our groupmate is having problems to pass our project on time. Good thing, all else ends well. I just hope our grade is well too, or better yet, great! Wish us luck! :)

Rainy Sunday Morning!

FYI, what happened this morning was super unexpected.

It was like any ordinary morning here in Tarlac. We're about to go out for "family" reasons when someone called my mom and said that the flood was higher than usual. It didn't stop us from going. When we reached the flooded part, we had second thoughts but my brother, who's driving, had already set off towards the flooded road. I thought I was safe because we had a car, only to find out that we're not lucky at all.

It was an unlikely sight when we reached our destination. It's also flooded there too, so we had to find a dry parking place and most likely, walk towards there. No one except me brought a cellphone and my mom didn't even call the contact person! Because we don't want to walk on the flooded road without certainty that we're going to talk to the contact person, we decided to head off to the wet market. Lesson: Call first the person you're going to meet and always bring your cellphone!

My brother and I waited for my mom and cousin as they stroll along the wet market to buy some food and ingredients. When they came back, they told us that someone called them and said the road back to our house was closed! We then decided to park the car at the municipality and prepared ourselves to walk our way home. My reaction was "O-M-G".

BTW, I took some vids and pictures along the way :P

As we headed towards home, we saw our cousin and his group of friends. They helped us as we walked ourselves home. The initial thought that we were safe was completely erased. There we are, bare-footed, walking against the flood, germs, and many many more. It was fun BUT my feet hurts like hell. I was pleading to my mom to give back my slippers, but she said it might be swept off by the strong current. I saw a lot of people walking too. I even saw a man drinking! WTF. O_O

When we were almost near our home, I got my slippers back again. The flood was higher, though. It reached my thighs! Funny thing is, my mom and I got vain. We decided to take pictures because we're so near to our place anyway!

Whew! This is one experience I'm never going to forget! LOL!

The first time I heard their song, Pangarap Lang Kita, it made me love Parokya more! I searched on Youtube the vid of their song and the first one that I saw is a fan-made animated vid.

After a week, I found out that they released a vid starring JM De Guzman and Sab Anupol

When I saw MYX the other day, they showed another video. I was shocked when I saw Chito doing the role of JM and waited who'll do the role of Sab, only to find out it's Vinci! Whoo! BROMANCE! LOL. Parokya ni Edgar never fails to give me a good laugh and a good song :)

Sorry to my online blogger friends, I think I won't be able to post as much as I can before because I've been busy with my academics. Oh well, anyways, Facebook and Twitter has been really alive tonight because of DLSU's late announcement on whether there will be suspension of classes.

It's weird that DLSU hasn't suspended classes yesterday, June 23. The rain was so strong as well as the wind. It's too scary to look outside! Good thing that DLSU has a generator because I experienced 2 brown-out cases that day! I had a hard time going home, because the school was flooded. The flood's already ankle-high (and of course, I can really say that it's not clean at all!). Sidecar drivers are making the most out of it, asking for 50php per head just to reach the other side of the road. Whew, anyways, just sharing my story! LOL.

The main stuff that I want to share is the thing that happened tonight's Facebook and Twitter page. Here's my experience:

Eventually saw Santugon's tips

and read Tapat manifesto's on the late reaction time of the DLSU Administration

and then I saw the note of Cabe Aquino, DLSU's current USG President. I must say, the likes and comments received by the note are incredible!

Then she announced that there are no classes tomorrow. Hurray for the students!

and have read that Cabe Aquino is trending on Twitter! FYI, she just used Twitter tonight. She was trending for less an hour of using Twitter! DLSU100 was hard to trend, but Cabe Aquino is just so AWESOME!

I then searched for "Cabe Aquino" on Twitter to check out what people are tweeting about her, and I saw a malicious account! TROLL!

Don't mind or reply to her tweets because that's what she wants - ATTENTION, just report for spam instead. :)

Did all of this while doing our paper. Whew! Talk about multi-tasking! LOL. Btw, I'm at Tarlac today until Sunday. :)

Anyways, to end this post, I hope everyone's safe! Let's all pray for our fellow Filipinos who are experiencing a hard time right now. I wish that the next storm isn't as strong as Falcon, our country's already experiencing so much now. Take care everyone!

I want to CHANGE the world!

Something hit my mind today, thanks to the following:

1. As we left Tondo (Went to bf's house to watch Kung Fu Panda to prepare for tomorrow's movie time - Kung Fu Panda 2), I saw a very polluted river along the way. I had been at their place many times, but today was the first time that I "saw" the river, and I saw MANY trash floating. You wouldn't like the smell too. Near the river were some street children at about ages 5-7 trying desperately to enter the jeep even if at any moment, they can be hit by a car just for their desperation to ask for alms from passengers.

(Not mine. What I saw wasn't this dirty, but still, this is Tondo river and I think this video was recorded by a Japanese tourist)

2. Our professor made us watch a movie about corporations and its impact to society. And boy, who would have thought that these big corporations are monsters on the inside? Some big companies such as Shell who killed people for profit? How about Nike who paid their laborers at about 1% of the price of their clothes (example, 0.06 cents for a 6 dollar blouse)? There are so many cases about how corporations manipulate people, how they destroy our environment and how they dominate society. I even asked my professor for a copy, and I'll share what I saw in the movie as soon as I watch it again.

3. As I went home, I had a chance to talk with my friend about many things such as school activities, etc. But there was one topic that I really liked and it started when he compared Tapat to Santugon, 2 political parties in DLSU. (Take note, he's non-partisan). He told me that he had talked to a friend and they compared the 2. They concluded that Santugon has the "civilized" people, the ones who are friendly and "ma-PR" whereas Tapat has people who are aggressive and look at the big picture. Of course, who will people pick?

In elections, people would go for the people who they can talk to, and not read or even look at their platform (Btw, Tapat fights for platform). We even talked about last Elections. Who did won as President? Well, that's Noynoy Aquino - someone who wasn't that capable (look at his credentials and things he did before he was in position), but was backed-up by a lot of local artists including his very controversial sister, Kris Aquino, and not to mention, he's also a son of Noynoy and Cory Aquino. Let's mention the people next to him in the count. Erap, who was jailed before because of plunder, was the second one. Third was Villar, who had a very controversial C-5 issue (Oh, he claimed that he was from Tondo? Well, it's not true. People from Tondo can witness that). In my mind, what were the Filipinos thinking? Are we that unintelligent enough not to think? Are we that desperate? Are we easily swayed by media?

(Not my video. But cool, it was made by a fellow Lasallian. LOL)

What I had today made me realize that I need to do something. I want to have a "change" in our society. I want to join organizations who have an advocacy. I realized that I was too busy at school orgs, which I joined for credentials, something to write for my resume, and to think, it's only for our school.

This time, I'll go for the "bigger picture". I want to "CHANGE" something for the BETTER.

Adsense Account Disabled :(

I hate this day. The first mail I saw in my Gmail is saying that my Adsense was disabled of invalid click activity. Here's the e-mail I got:

It was like WTF. What the hell did I do? I tried to appeal and gave my own explanation of things. I wholeheartedly told what I know and to add my disappointment, I received this e-mail:

I looked at the FAQ and learned that once they gave the decision, I can't apply again for Adsense. So I decided to look for Adsense alternatives and I ended up with AdHitz and Bidvertiser(Monetize your Website or Blog with BidVertiser).

Ugh. It feels so sad to know I can't use my Adsense account especially that I can see the Monetize Tab here in blogger. Any suggestions? :(

P.S. I'll do the awards tomorrow or the next day, I feel so sad because of my Adsense account :| :(

. OMG. I missed you guys, blog hopping, knowing what's your latest stuff, etc., I've been too busy at school that whenever I get home, I feel so dead tired and once I get home, I get to use my FB for about 10-20 minutes and I'm off to sleep! This is unusual, really, especially it's only the first week of class :|

Anyways, I've been reading your comments and tags and I feel so "kilig" or flattered! Lol. So there, I'm just gonna share some of my rants, and of course, relevant stuffs too that you should know. I hope you guys get to relate :P

Adjustment. Oh, I changed my sched from an M-H-S to only M-H. I don't want a Saturday class and good thing a new schedule opened up. But sadly, it wasn't easy to enter that sched at first! The Academic Assistant stopped my friends to enter that schedule because she believed that it will only be dissolved. Good thing, I fought for it and had convinced people to enter that class. And thankfully, even if I lost hope, it's now okay! Ha! We showed Academic Assistant who's right! :> LOL.

Lesson: If ever you know you're right, FIGHT FOR IT! Don't let someone stop you from getting what is rightfully yours. As long as you have the right reasons, go for it! Don't be a coward. Step up and fight! :)

I guess this is what TAPAT influenced me :) Btw, TAPAT is my political organization at DLSU. :P

LRT Hassle. It's still a riot, definitely. And oh, I just want to share that from May 28 to May 30, LRT wouldn't provide services from Roosevelt to Abad Santos. Check it out here!

And there's also a story there which I find funny. There were moms who actually had their delivery at the LRT! And guess what, the babies' names were named according to the stations. Liberty Anne? Dorotea? Guess what stations! Lol. Check the whole story here.

Academics. Terror profs. Oh gawd, I'm really gonna study hard this term. Btw, I only have 4 terms left, including this term. I just hope I still graduate on time :P (FYI: I shifted from CSE to INSYS)
Froshies. There's so many of them! Seriously. Luckily, I've met some froshies this week and I was flattered to know that they know my blog. Haha. Anyways, if you happen to read this post, I would be glad to hang-out with you guys. LOL.
New stuff! My boyfriend and I now love eating at different food stalls in Ever Gotesco - Monumento! We're not limited to McDo anymore. LOL. And I also bought new things too. My fevorite is the white board, bought it at Expressions :P

My Summer 2011 :)

Since school will start tomorrow, May 25, Wednesday for DLSU, I decided to make a summary of what happened to my summer this year through collages. Hence, it's kind of a photo blog post! :)
(Note: I only used Picasa for the collage, didn't even bother editing pictures one by one :D)

Anyways, here's my major major summer 2011 events! :)

19th birthday. This is so far, my best and memorable birthday that doesn't have any "bongga" celebrations. My boyfriend surprised me with a date at Ocean Park! Plus, my family and I went out for dinner at Shakey's. I had a "number" from the crew + free ice cream because it's my birthday! LOL :D

Block outing. S11 Brotherhood went to Laguna! We went to Wilk's Hot Spring Resort, which was very big - pool, court, 3 bedrooms which consist of 3 double beds each. Price was really worth it. No pictures that much though :P

Family & relatives outing. In continuation of my 19th birthday celebration, my family together with my relatives went swimming at our province in Camiling, Tarlac! Too bad we didn't have the chance to rent a private pool, but nevertheless it was so much fun! I had the chance to "swim", so does my very cute niece! Oh, my mom showed her vain and naughty side too! :D

5th monthsary celebration. Oh, I posted about this. Check it here. (Additional photos are taken from my boyfriend's camera! :))

Batangas trip with my "brothers" and bf. This is why I wasn't able to post last weekend. My TAPAT(school org) brothers and I decided to go out for a beach outing! Good thing that my friend has a direct contact (or owner too) at the Calatagan resort(Playa) so we didn't spend much. Gawd, I love the beach there. I also love the food at Balayan - Habibi's shawarma + the street foods (esp. Isaw!) - highly recommended! I also recommend Loumars' buko tart. And oh, we ate lunch at Tagaytay and food was really delicious. Bulalo - 2 thumbs up! :) - What a way to celebrate Judgement Day! :P

I love eating ice cream especially when I’m depressed. :)
I like imagining stuffs. Whenever I don’t do anything, I usually imagine. Like for example, I’m here in this place, etc etc. It’s a stress reliever too :p

People I Hate When Watching a Movie at a Moviehouse

Note: I posted this because I was really pissed while watching the movie "In the Name of Love", to which in my surprise is a great movie, you should watch it. But ugh, is it me or is Angel Locsin gaining weight? There :P

1. People who can't even put in silent mode their cellphones. I know these guys want to know whether someone is texting or calling, etc., but hey! You're in the movie house where people bought a ticket to watch a movie comfortably without any disturbance.
Advice: Please put your cellphones in silent mode and make sure it vibrates to notify you if someone texted or is calling you.

2. People who don't know how to shut up. Watching a movie and hearing people chatting loudly? Or maybe you're at the most important part of the movie when suddenly, you hear someone talking loudly about the movie or even spill something about it? Well, certainly this is annoying.
Advice: When watching a movie, please know that you're only talking to the person beside you who, of course, is your friend. You're not talking to everyone there. People are not even interested to listen to you nor wants to know the whole story just because you said it. People are watching to know from the flow of the film itself!

3. People who can't take care of their children. Everyone wants to have fun in the movie. Well of course, kids too. Like noisy people, it isn't fun too when kids annoy viewers of their naughty attitude.
Advice: Learn to behave or discipline the child even before watching the movie. If you can't even discipline the child, well, I think this might be a big problem.

4. People who came in late + noisy too while looking for a seat. This scene might turn out for the worst when the movie has a very dramatic scene and these people are in a very big group. No need to explain. The only thing I can say is that people can't focus on the movie that much, this is pretty much annoying!
Advice: Enter the movie house as early as the starting time. Or if you can't go early, try to enter the movie house not in groups or not that coupled up. Also, know that it's your fault you can't even look for seats together. Better sit at the center if you can't even look for one!

5. People who keep getting up. Or, tall people who sit in front. Imagine you're having fun watching a movie when suddenly a very tall person sits in front of you. After a while, this person stands up and returns after a minute, then did the same all over again so many times, even at a very important scene!
Advice: For tall people, be considerate enough to sit at the back. As for people who always keep getting up, be prepared when watching a movie. If you need to go to the CR, go before the movie starts. Buy food, text or call people that you'll be watching a movie, etc.

I know there are a lot of things that are very annoying and disturbing while watching movies at the the cinemas. You can comment for more and tell me your experiences!

As for my opinions, I guess moviegoers should be educated more on ethics in while watching a movie. What do you think?

Last night, I had a hard time sleeping so I tried to doodle just to make use of the time. And hence, I eventually came up with this one. Well, I kinda find it cute but of course, I still have so much to learn.

Anyways, as I was browsing blogs last night, I had in mind things that I want to do for my blog. Here's the list:

Own domain. I've been searching for free domains, but I'm carefully picking out. I've seen some blogs who have won or applied for their own domain names so I'm looking for one too. Help? :P
Self-made blog lay-out. I am so envious of people who have made their blogs so pretty and according to their personality. I promise, one day, I'll make my own blog template!

Whew. Feel so tired and very sleepy now! Anyways, boyfie went to our house today for some love. LOL. Joke! Anyways, main thing that happened today was that we were able to teach tricks to my ever so lovable Snowbear. And now, he knows how to SIT! Well, kinda :D

I asked my boyfriend what he thinks of Snowbear and he told me he had potential, although he has a very low attention span therefore, I should be very patient in teaching him tricks. :P

BC Bloggers Meme #1 (My tool/tip/secret in blogging)

I was reading posts from the people I followed when I saw Miss 'C's post about a Bloggers Meme. I checked it out and find it interesting. It's also a good way to add quality traffic to my blog and meet other bloggers :D Check it here.

Anyways, there's a question to be answered and that's:

I am kind of proud that in just almost 2 weeks, I had more than 4k visits in my blog. Also, I jumped over more than a hundred in rankings on the directories I joined! (Topblogs and Blogtopsites: I started 700+. Look at where I am now!)

Well, if I can give one tip, is that at least make quality posts and promote your blog. Traffic will not come to you in an instant. You should drive the traffic into your blog. There are so many ways to promote your blog. Forums, directories, social networking sites, etc. Feel free to use different online resources! :)

I feel so happy and blessed, it has almost been 2 weeks (FYI. I started herecomesapril on May 3 :P, other posts of the earlier months were imported from my Wordpress blog) since I started this and I have so many good things to experience!

The main objective of this blog was actually to earn, but the more I try to drive traffic to my blog the more I get to meet people, know different culture, discover the art of blogging, and learn why blogging is a great thing to do. Hence, it is now least of my priority.

I feel so happy to have followers of my own (Thank you! >:D< I didn't expect that I'll even have one! *sniff sniff*), and meet so many fellow bloggers who are so friendly and supportive. To my surprise, there are a lot of Filipina and Lasalllian bloggers. I am just so very proud! I also am proud of myself that I have improved myself here more than I expected (From 440, now I'm 365 in Topblogs. And I'm part of the 200+ in the blog top sites where I started from 700+! I hope this is not a joke! :D)

My hobby for doodling also came back because when I saw so many bloggers show their own doodles, I felt envious! I am also eager to learn on editing stuff, and even make my very own template. *HOPEFULLY* (Can you teach or help me how to design my very own lay-out? Please? Lol.)

I just realized, the purpose of my blog is for me to share myself - my thoughts, experiences, knowledge - everything to people. It may sound cliche, but yes, I blog to express, not to impress!

I finally found something that I love to do.

Introducing... Snowbear! :3

Because I find him very cute and lovable, I'll introduce you to our puppy and he's named Snowbear! I know, it's kinda weird calling him like that, but I guess the pictures will explain why. Here's Snowbear! :3 (+details)

His breed is half "Askal" or a native Philippine dog + unknown breed. I hope it's a labrador. Looks like it!
He wants people around. He cries whenever he sees no one is there.And, he also cries every night. I wonder why O_O
Oh, he's big for his age too. We have other puppies who are older than him, but he's bigger! (And he's a bully to them. LOL :D)
He's a very sweet puppy. Whenever I'm around, he'll make a cute puppy look face just to make me go near to him.
He'll always jump on my lap whenever he has the chance :3
He's a jealous one too! He only wants the attention to himself. *Spoiled puppy!*

There. I'll update this post about Snowbear if I find some other interesting facts about him :P Oh btw, he also has a funny picture too, and my boyfriend edited it and posted at his tumblr. Check it out! :D

Hi bloggers! I doodle! :3

It makes me sad that blogger's still not okay. Lost some pages and comments, though. Can't even update my link exchange page. Oh well, yesterday, just to lessen the boredom, I blog hopped. It feels great to meet people who have the same passion for blogging. To think, some are just in my place or fellow Lasallians!

I envied some blog lay-outs, but I know I'm not much of a designer so I resolved to making a badge because I've been seeing a lot of bloggers who have badges of their own. I doodled online first with youlikes.com, and made a draft. Check it out here (Like it if you think it's cute or okay :p). And oh, I doodled with a mouse and not an expert with it. I prefer doing it on paper. (Ugh, this makes me want a tablet of my own!)

Anyways, I copied my drawing then tried to edit it in Photoshop. I asked my boyfriend for advice because I really don't have the talent of combining colors and even editing things. I didn't know what to include too, so my first try looks like this, the one on the right. ->

I felt that it was incomplete so I thought of other things on what to include. So, I resolved to the following. Here are the different variations that I made:

1st batch: Drafts with no stars + sun, tried editing the drawing and font.

2nd batch: Playing with the drafts :D

3rd batch: With stars + sun, finalizing its look.

And there, I ended up with this :p

Please comment for tips or suggestions. I badly need one! And oh, I wouldn't still use it as a badge, I feel like there's something lacking in it. :(

Google Android OS code names == desserts!

Google just released the latest version of Android! Or should I say, they have released their new "sweet" treat to the public. It's funny how Google named their OS.

It's funny they named it alphabetically and according to desserts. Question is, what if it reached Z? Oh well, let's just guess what will be next name of its OS. Hmmm.. J? Let's wait and see :)

Happy 5th: Exploring Manila Zoo ;)

Manila Zoo. It's been a long time since I last went here. I think I was about 8 or 9 years old, and to think I'm already 19. Whoaa. 10 years long!

Anyways, we went to Manila Zoo after our food trip via commute: went down at LRT-Quirino station, then walk towards where Roxas is. It was a long walk, really. If we only have money, we might go there via taxi or a bus. But oh well, time for some exercise! :D Btw, I was relieved when we reached the zoo. It was freaking hot outside! LOL.

I was excited as we reach the gates. I paid our entrance fee which was 40php each, because I wanted to treat my boyfriend for he's always the one treating. Plus, it's cheap, I can afford to pay! :D

As we entered the zoo, the first animal I saw was the elephant. And boy was I amazed at its size! But as we got nearer to it, I felt sad. Last time we went there, I remembered there were 2 of them, and it was clean and you can really feel its presence. Now, the place is dirty, and it felt like that it's not been taking care of. The only elephant there looks old, sad and lonely. My boyfriend and I sympathized with the elephant and decided not to take a picture of it.

We moved on, then checked out other animals too. Here are the pictures of the animals, and read the captions! (Note: I only use my w890i phone's camera for pictures and edited some with Photoscape :))

I had the following negative observations for Manila Zoo:

It's not that clean anymore. When you look at the animals' shelter, you can see a lot of garbage.
It looks like the zoo and the animals are not being properly taken care of. (Well, except for the monkeys, they're fat!)
Less animals compared before. Did they die already? It's sad to see only one of them is in the cage. How will the animals multiply? I didn't even see a lion!
Some parts are already broken and some places are off-limits. No fun with that!

Anyways, that's only my observations. The best part that we had was the boating experience. It's my first time to row a boat, and it was a great experience! 60php for a maximum of 5. Time range is about 30-45 minutes. And, the boat rentals is only up to 5pm.

We also had a picture from a photographer. It cost 75php for the big one, and 35php for the regular-sized photos. Good thing "mamang photographer" was nice and persistent enough to capture our photo, boyfriend was convinced to buy the photos. LOL.

After boating, we opted to buy from a WORKING vending machine. Bought a cold latte! :) Pictures during that time :P

There's also a kiddie zoo, to our surprise, but we didn't have the chance to look at it that much because we needed to go. And we're too tired to even look at it! There were also packages for a zip-line and mountain-climbing as well as picture-taking. Too bad, we just saw it as we went home.

To end, overall, it was a fun day. If you want a cheap date, you can go to Manila Zoo for that! Although some were visually depressing, you can still have fun by strolling there, boating and even horse back riding and bonding with your friends, family and many more! :3

Happy 5th: Sandwich + "Unknown" Dish!

For our 5th monthsary, my boyfriend and I decided to visit Manila Zoo! Well, this is because we don't have much money and it's just easy to go there without a car.

But before going to Manila Zoo, we decided to meet each other at his place to prepare food for our trip. We actually thought of bringing lunch, but his family insisted on eating lunch at their place first. His sister was the one who prepared the dish, and it was pretty delicious and heavy too. I had a hard time finishing it!

I forgot what's the name of the dish, but I knew it was popular in Ateneo because they used it for their thesis. Anyways, here it is! (We designed it first and I had fun with it. I like designing food! :P)

After eating, Bien went to the kitchen and prepared our merienda. He said he's good in making sandwiches so he opted to make one for both of us as well as to his family.

With bagel, lettuce, olive oil, cucumber, bacon and cheese, he surely had made a good sandwich!
